The A100 from KDLINKS is an Android media player. The A100 player runs a custom version of Android and also has the full capabilities of Google Play Store. The KDLINKS A100 comes with apps preinstalled as well as the custom software and programs that help find your media and play it.

The A100 having the Android OS and access to Google's Play Store, you can download the very favorable XBMC app. Turn your KDLINKS A100 into an all in one media player with XBMC and browse through your movies and other media just as you would with an HTPC.

In addition to XBMC, you also have the ability to access Netflix, YouTube, Pandora, and many other apps that you could find on Smart TV's or Blu Ray Players.

The KDLINKS A100 features an ARM Cortex A9 1.6GHz dual core processor, a quad core MALI 400MP Graphics Processor, 8 GB's of internal flash memory, and 1GB of DDR3 RAM. This system is fast and has a lot of processing power to decode 1080p Blu Ray quality movies and media.

Using this device to watch my media, I found the current build (Android 4.1) had an issue with playing the .MKV file format. Full 1080p .MKV files were very laggy and sometimes froze the system. It seems to play everything else without any issues and I have not yet tried any of the other builds. I will test with that later.

The A100 is a dedicated media player with the ability to connect to your home network through either an Ethernet or wireless connection. Using an NAS or external hard drive to to broadcast on your network? That's fine, the A100 will find it as long as you know your local IP.

The media player has two large, rotatable antennas for the Wireless N and holds a great signal. In addition to the antennas, the media player also has 3 USB 3.0 ports, an Ethernet port for a hard wired connection, and 1 SD card reader. If you want to watch a movie or play music off of a local USB hard drive or USB Flash Drive, you have all the ports available to you.

In addtion to the USB 3.0 ports, you can use USB remotes and HTPC keyboards for a better experience. They have the KDLINKS Air Mouse ( Click Here for Review ) that works perfectly with the A100.

KDLINKS A100 supports 1920X1080 Full HD and that is perfect for the Home Theater enthusiest! Perfect for the noob that is just getting into Home Theater and HTPCs

With only a few issues with the playback on the .MKV file format the only issue I have run into so far is utilizing the "Files" app. Every time I access the folder, it asks me to enter in login information. Of course it's easy enough to type it in with the Air Mouse, I wish it was able to save the information. It gets a little annoying when you back out of a folder and it will no longer let you back in. Sometimes it even requires a system shut off and power back on.

Overall, this Android media player from KDLINKS is a great device. It achieves being able to play media wireless or wired into your home network and you have the Android market place for games and other apps.
